pioneering and development!

Tosoh Hellas recently celebrated 50 years of a successful course with a special event. On Saturday, June 8th, partners and professionals from Greece and Japan joined a colorful event held at the Myronidis estate.

Tosoh Hellas is one of the leading companies in the field of chemicals and special materials. Since its foundation until today, it has been active in Greece with the production of Electrolytic Manganese Dioxide. The commonly known as EMD, a specialized chemical product that is the main component of dry-cell batteries.

The evening began with a warm welcome and thanks speech from two of the top executives of Tosoh Hellas and the parent company, Tosoh Corporation. Among other things, they referred to the most important moments of these fifty years, thanking staff and partners for their professionalism and dedication.

More specifically, Mr. Yamashita, President and CEO of Tosoh Hellas, emphasized that innovation, stability and respect are three values ​​intertwined with the course of the company since its foundation, constituting to this day a point of reference for partners and employees.

Afterwards, Mr. Aiiso, member of the Board of Directors of Tosoh Hellas for many years and President of Tosoh Hyuga ("sister" EMD factory in Japan), took the floor. Just before handing over the sceptres of his position, he made a brief but crucial retrospect. Referring to the first - and full of difficulties and challenges - 15 years of his tenure at Tosoh Hellas, he noted that the Company managed to overcome them, reaching sales of 48 million euros, and profits of over 5 million euros.

As part of the event, the attendees dined, danced, and shared their own special moments from the company's history so far. The menu had elements from Greek as well as Japanese cuisine, while it was accompanied by fine wines. The evening was first accompanied by live music by the unique ‘Speakeasy The Band’, while a DJ set followed.

The event closed with a custom highlighting the company's ties to Japan. ‘Kagami biraki’ has its roots in the Land of the Rising Sun, being a ritual that according to tradition brings good luck and bliss.

Five decades, where innovation and responsibility were at the fore. With the same constants - and of course, with the support of its partners and employees - Tosoh Hellas will continue to pioneer in its sector. Continuing just as strongly in the coming years!
